You are warmly invited to the opening of re-(t)exHile | Atacama
Wednesday, November 19, at 7 p.m.
in the Museum of Memory and Human Rights
In its fourth chapter, re-(t)exHile unfolds in the Atacama Desert—one of the world’s main destinations for textile waste. Through a journey and collaboration with curator Rodolfo Andaur and local communities, discarded garments collected from the desert have been transformed into a large-scale textile installation. The work reveals the social, ecological, and political layers embedded in this landscape, reflecting on how waste shapes territories, bodies, and daily life.
The opening discussion will bring together Martinka Bobrikova (SVK/NOR) and Oscar de Carmen (ESP), artists; María Alejandra Gatti (ARG), curator; and Rodolfo Andaur (CH), director of Actinómetro.
Moderated by: Fernando Farina (ARG), BIENALSUR curatorial team.
Join us for an evening of reflection and dialogue on art, territory, and the global circuits of production and waste.
