Research trip to Lagos - 2022

05 Oct 2022

In September 2022 we traveled to Lagos for a pre-project research trip in preparation for our participation in the 4th Lagos Biennial 2023. Our visit focused on exploring the biennial’s theme, Refuge, and understanding the local context for our pavilion.

The team visited Tafawa Balewa Square, where the biennial would take place, analyzing its scale, mixed-use structures, and surrounding housing and commercial areas. We also engaged with several local initiatives to build connections and support project development.

A special thanks to The Guest Artist Space (G.A.S.) for hosting us and to Opeyemi Balogun from the Lagos Biennial team for invaluable support during our visit.
